AZO Entertainment celebrated their One Year Anniversary on October 22, 2010 as an Inspirational Soul/Jazz & Spoken Word promotion company. The Black & Silver Gala Affair was held at the exquisite Ranch Steak House, located in Cedar Hill, TX. AZO Entertainment was founded by Alonzo Hurt Jr. a proud native of San Antonio TX.; who relocated to Dallas in November of 2008. He had his first Neo Soul show entitled “Neo Soul & Spoken Word Sundays” on November 15 of 2009, which was held at the upscale Glo Lounge in Dallas TX with several others to follow, held at places such as the upscale club TePhejez, Back Beat Café’ & the San Antonio’s upscale Posh Lounge. Mr. Hurt, is also known for promoting Christian Entertainment under the business name “BreakThrough Gospel Promotions”, in which he began in his home town of San Antonio. A year after moving to Dallas, Alonzo decided to expand his talented hand at a new business venture, with the lyrical & artistic sounds of Inspirational Soul/Jazz & Poetry/Spoken Word and has proven to be a huge success in DFW.

Mr. Hurt got the idea of starting AZO Entertainment, from friend turned business partner, Crystal Taylor, who supported and encouraged him to do so, becoming AZO’s EOC. Crystal is also a known make up artist throughout Dallas Fort Worth of a company she founded called Faces By Crystal.

From there Alonzo began carefully putting together a talented and effective team which included: Brenda Randall known as B. Randall, who is AZO’s first official Mc, who brings life to any crowd with her own zesty style of hosting and contagious personality.

Later to join the team would be Deon Taylor, a writer, poet & local radio announcer, bringing to the table her innovative ideas and writing skills, becoming AZO’s P/R & Media Exc., and the creator of the teams first official Blog site, AZO Entertainment Presents which can be viewed at www.azoentertainment.blogspot.com which features all the highlights of previous & up and coming shows and featured artist.

AZO is also proud to have on board financial whiz Tamara Boyd who is now the financial consultant for AZO Entertainment as well as the owner of Alpha & Omega Financial consultants. Angelina Williams who serves as the Mr. Hurts Personal Assistant and Marketing expert is known to be an out of the box thinker and a great asset to the team.

Kendra (KeKe) Brooks is AZO’s Neo Soul artist that has consistently been a crowd pleaser everywhere she goes throughout Texas. Kendra is small in stature but has a powerful voice like no other. Together this team of young intelligent, talented & innovated group of ladies under the leadership of Alonzo Hurt Jr., exemplifies integrity, friendship and family and are now known as one of Dallas’s newest and hottest Promotional team, providing not only soulful entertainment, but artist management, image consulting, event planning and make-up artistry as well. The future is definitely promising and bright for AZO Entertainment.

Throughout the night guest from all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area lined up to get in the Ranch Steak House of Cedar Hill TX., to celebrate AZO’s milestone in the entertainment business as well as Mr. Hurts Birthday! To show his appreciation to all of those who had supported AZO Entertainment since coming onto the entertainment scene, Alonzo decided to also share his special night with all of those who too, had birthdays in the month of October.

Among the many guest in attendance for the night of celebration were, Internationally known Neo Soul Singer “D’Cheri”, Inspirational Spoken Word artist “Selah”, who performed an original piece and Poetess “Shug Avery” who was also among the evening performers. Others included local & international crooner Van Artist, the soulful sounds of Kendra KeKe Brooks and many more. The night was no where near short on talent, which was proven during the period of karaoke and line dancing. At one point, the crowd guided Alonzo out on the dance floor, who does not and did not bust any moves at all.
